After being so over store bought tasteless sausage rolls (with that grey mixture that is not appetizing at all!) wanted to make it at home. This recipe was perfect! Love that it incorporates vegetables and herbs which adds colour and of course lots of flavour!
Sausage Rolls (Source: Alive And Cooking)
Ingredients
500g minced pork
500g minced veal
1 brown onion, finely chopped
2 carrots, grated
2 sticks of celery,finely chopped
¼ bunch of curly parsley finely
chopped
Salt and pepper
2 eggs
4 sheets of pastry
Method
Mix together the
pork,veal,onion,carrot, celery and parsley then stir in the salt and
the pepper and 1 egg. Divide the mixture into 4 and evenly distribute
the mixture along the length of the pastry sheets. Brush with egg
wash, then simply roll and crimp together; score lines on the surface
of the pastry about 5cm apart then brush the rolls with egg wash.
Place on a lined baking tray and bake
at 200ยบC
for 25-30 minutes.
